Sports Massage

Are you a sportsperson or do you work out regularly?

Sports massage helps you to recover or prepare for your sport. It is also particularly suitable if you have a very active physical life.

Sports Massage

Relaxed, rested muscles, free of stiffness and pain, can help you avoid injuries or aggravate fragilities.

Whether you’re a passionate athlete or a weekend warrior, a regular sports massage will help you stay in top shape!

Why a special massage for athletes and very active persons?

Athletes and other active people who are concerned about their physical condition need to pay close attention to their body to avoid injuries.

Intensive sports activities can lead to aches, pain, stiffness in the muscles and joints. If this persist, it can lead in a long run to fragilities that can result in injuries such as muscle or tendon strains.

Sports Massage drains the areas in depth to eliminate lactic acid and other toxins that can clog muscles and tissues. It improves flexibility and allows energy to flow more smoothly throughout the body.

This deep, targeted massage is also particularly suitable for fragile areas. For example, if you tend to suffer from lateral epicondylitis, periosteum of the tibia, tendonitis or if you have been treated for a muscle strain.

The benefits of Sports Massage

The benefits of regular massages for athletes are plentiful.

We can note for example:

  • Shorter recovery time
  • Reduced fatigue
  • Reduced risk of inflammation
  • Improved flexibility
  • Increased range of motion
  • Less muscles cramps and spasms
  • Increased sense of well-being
  • Better performance
  • Etc.

How does a sports massage work?

The massage session starts with a brief interview with our massage therapist. This allows us to target the specific areas to be worked on. These depend largely on the type of sport you practice and its intensity.

This is also the time to explain the areas of pain and your aims for the massage.

Tonic or relaxing, the massage therapist will establish the sequence of massages according to your expectations and needs of the moment.

When should you schedule a sports massage?

A massage will be particularly useful:

  • In preparation for exercise, ideally the day before

It helps to warm up the muscles and prepare the body for the effort to be made. This massage, made up of rapid frictions, gives a better feeling of flexibility on the day of the performance.

  • In recovery time, ideally 48 hours after the effort

The recovery massage removes stiffness and aches. It makes the body more supple thanks to wide and slow gestures. It favours muscular and mental relaxation.

Note that the effects of massages are cumulative. The more regular they are, the more satisfied your body will be and the better prepared it will be for the sports solicitations you will make of it!
